Mutant Bikes Seatclamp

Olá Amigos,

Here is the video that we did to present our new Seat clamp System.

We did this video to show how the mutantbikes seat clamp system works to tighten the seatpost. Simple, light and functional, mutantbikes will offer the seatpost with adjust holes on the first series frames. Anyway we made a video to show how you can use the old seatpost doing a simple hole.

Another Great Ride-Central Event

We just got back from another great Ride-Central Supported Northern Downhill Race.

The weather was great and some awesome racing was had. Our Team Rider Adam "Slicer" Burnside took 2nd place which looks like it might knock him out of top spot for the overall series at the moment. Come on slicer pull your socks up.

As usual we used our trusty Touareg to house the timing equipment after a spot of offroading ofcourse.

We just got back from seeing Deadmau5 in leeds last night. Have to say it was the best live act i have ever seen and the entire venue was going off.

Team Rider Update

Back on a bike and riding for leaf in 2009 is our old friend Osama Al-Mukhtar. Here is a shipment of products we just sent out to him.

Osama will be running a leaf D.Two frame along with a nice selection of leaf cycles goodies. We are looking forward to showing you guys some of Osamas riding through the season. If your out at events and riding spots keep an eye out for him going big.

Mutant BMX first look

Our friend Nuno from Mutant Bikes just sent us over some information on his new BMX frames, here is what he had to say:

"A while ago we received our new “mutation” that has been tested, it´s called “LOBO”, a BMX frame. (LOBO means WOLF in Portuguese)
We started to develop it in the middle of the last year.

“LOBO” is a BMX line up of parts that we are developing, I always rode BMX, so for me it doesn´t make sense for mutantbikes to be without a BMX frame.
LOBO frame weight 2,1Kg/ 4,6lbs and will be available in 20.83”, 21” and 21.26” with a 13.35” rear end, and made with cromoly sanko tubing double butted. Some heat treated parts, like, machined dropouts, spanish bb, headset tube, chainstay and seat stay plate. Integrated headset and seat clamp with removal brake mounts.

Our main focus is details, it makes a part more beautiful and saves some weight. I hope you enjoy as much as we do.

The integrated seat clamp is our own system that is approved and tested, soon I will show how it works… simple and functional…

Craig Maxes out his Leaf

We just finished dropping the BOMB on craigs leaf. It has been in long need of some new kit so we tricked it out a little.

Fresh on are a set of leaf motostick cranks, leaf sprocket and some RS Argyles. We also built up some new leaf rims on leaf hubs but the front spokes were too long. Doh. We will finishe them off later in the week.

Now all we have to do is wait for some sunshine and dry trails

New Leaf Frames

New in this week are the 2009 Leaf D.Two frames and Leaf bmx frame.

The D.two is a further development of the D.one-concept. The chainstays are 5mm shorter, but the rest of the geo is just as dialled. The shorter chainstays gives a more progressive handling. One of the most important goals is that Leafcycles reduced the weight by using a high quality Sanko tubeset from Japan.

Material: double butted Sanko cromo steel
Steerer: CNC machined, heat threated
Dropouts: 10 mm axle / 4 mm thick / forged and heat threated
Brake mount: IS 2000 Disc
BB shell: Mid-Size / 68 mm / heat threated
Headset: 1 1/8" integrated
Seat clamp: 29,8 mm / 27,2 mm

Geometry:
Top tube: 565 mm
BB height: 325 mm
Chainstays: variable 400 mm - 420 mm
Head angle: 70°

The Bank Hardtail

The Bank hardtail is the new evolution of do-it-all aluminum hardtails. Built to be incredibly light as well as strong for aggressive styles of riding, the Bank shines as a 4X/dual slalom rig as well as a dirt jumper. With our custom rotating axle positioning system in the dropouts, you can run gears or singlespeed with an extremely clean look. I have to say the quality of these guides is unreal. There ultra light at 139g and I have never seen such a well detailed product.

Im pretty excited by this frame as i have been looking to buy a steel AM bike for the past few months, next thing i know we have a Transition one....Happy days

Transition Delivery

I have just heard that a Transition delivery has arrived in the UK and will be in our store by Monday. This delivery has Bottleorcket frames, TrailorPark Frames, Transition Sprockets, Transition Revolution 32 Wheelsets and Transition Revolution 32 Rims.

Its also worth noting that complete Bottlerocket builds are now in stock along with TrailorPark complete builds, head to the store section as they are getting updated at the moment, if there not there call us up and shout at someone....

Im pretty sure the delivery wont be coming on bikes, it will simply just contain bikes. But who knows? its Christmas after all...
